Student Scholarships

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation is proud to award the NEF Encouraging Excellence Scholarship annually to help ensure graduating seniors continue their path to success, even after they leave the district.

In addition, the foundation partners with businesses, local organizations and individuals to support students through other scholarship and endowment opportunities. To date, NEF has funded more than $500,000 in scholarships!

Rena Garrett Memorial Scholarship

 

This year, NEF will award $160,000 in scholarships! The foundation's scholarship application is open to all eligible seniors in Northwest ISD who plan to enroll in an accredited institution in the summer or fall of 2024. Accredited institutions include private or community college, private or public universities, military academies, and vocational or trade school.

The scholarships available through the Northwest ISD Education Foundation are listed below. By completing the online application, students will be eligible to receive any of the scholarship funds.

If a scholarship has specific requirements, those details are also included below. In the case of PTA-related scholarships, a graduating senior must be a current or former student for consideration. *Updated as of February 16, 2024.

  • ABM Scholarship
  • Baylor Scott & White Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who is pursuing a career in healthcare
  • Beck Family Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant with a demonstrated financial need
  • BKV Corporation Scholarship
  • Byron Nelson High School PTSA Scholarship
    • Awarded to graduating senior at BNHS; must be a PTSA member
  • Choose Your Own Adventure Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who plans to attend trade or technical school
  • CoServ Charitable Foundation Scholarship
    • One scholarship awarded at each NISD high school; awarded to an applicant pursuing a career in a STEM-related field and/or attending technical, trade or vocational school
  • Cox Elementary PTA Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who attended Cox Elementary School; must be a PTSA member
  • Gene Pike Middle School PTA Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who attended Pike Middle School; must be a PTSA member
  • Isobel Grace Gentry Memorial Scholarship
    • Awarded to a female applicant with a Music or Music Education major
  • Jostens Scholarship
  • Kolb Famliy Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant with an interest in Construction or Construction Management, Engineering, or Trade Work
  • Linebarger Scholarship
  • Nance Family Scholarship
  • NCP Community Scholar Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant with a Business, Marketing or Communications major 
  • NISD Council of PTAs Scholarship
    • One scholarship awarded at each NISD high school; must be a PTSA member
  • Northstar Builders Scholarship
  • Rena Garrett Memorial Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant with a demonstrated financial need and participation in FCA and/or AVID
  • Samuel Beck Elementary PTA Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who attended Beck Elementary; must be a PTSA member 
  • ShyAnn and Ryan Hooper Memorial Scholarships
    • Two scholarships; awarded to an applicant with any varsity letter who is pursuing a career in education, social services, or nursing/healthcare
  • Tidwell Middle School PTA Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who attended Tidwell Middle School; must be a PTSA member 
  • Warren Family Scholarship
    • Awarded to an applicant who is pursuing a career in education
  • Wildstone Construction Scholarship

Adams Middle School PTSA Scholarship: One scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to a former Adams Middle School student attending one of the NISD high schools. Click here to download the application and review the requirements. The deadline to submit is Monday, April 1.

Clara Love Elementary PTA Scholarship: Two scholarships in the amount of $500 awarded to former Clara Love Elementary students attending one of the NISD high schools. Click here to download the application and review the requirements. The deadline to submit is Friday, April 12. 

Eaton High School PTSA Scholarship: Scholarship, based on the funds available, in the amount of $500 awarded to Eaton High School seniors who are active members of the Eaton PTSA. Click here to download the application and review the requirements. The deadline to submit is Monday, April 1.

Lakeview Elementary PTA Scholarship: One scholarship in the amount of $750 awarded to a former Lakeview Elementary student attending one of the NISD high schools. Click here to download the application and review the requirements. The deadline to submit is 4 p.m. on Monday, March 25

Medlin Middle School PTA Scholarship: Two scholarships in the amount of $500 awarded to former Medlin Middle School students attending one of the NISD high schools. Download the application and review the requirements here. The deadline to submit is 4 p.m., Friday, April 5.

Peterson Elementary PTA Scholarship: One scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to a former Peterson Elementary student attending one of the NISD high schools. Click here to download the application and review the requirements. The deadline to submit is 5 p.m. on Monday, March 25. 

Roanoke Elementary PTA Scholarship: Two scholarships, one in the amount of $500 and one in the amount of $250, awarded to former Roanoke Elementary students attending one of the NISD high schools. Schluter PTA Senior Scholarship: One scholarship in the amount of $500 awarded to a former Schluter Elementary student attending one of the NISD high schools. Please note that in order to be considered for the scholarship, the applicant or an immediate family member will need to be an active member of their school's PTA/PTSA.
